8505 Bearing-Guided Mortising Bit – Carbide Tipped, 1/2" Diameter, 3/4" Cut Length

The 8505 Mortising Bit is essential when using Woodhaven Hinge Jigs on door jambs with stops in place. This bearing-guided bit is carbide tipped for long-lasting performance and precision, making it ideal for cutting hinge mortises.

It features a 1/2" cutting diameter with a 5/8" OD bearing, mounted on a 1/4" shank. The 3/4" cut length provides the necessary clearance when mounting the jig above a 1/2" thick door stop.

This bit leaves 1/4" radius corners, which can be easily squared up with a chisel for a clean, professional fit.

If your door frame does not have a stop, we recommend the 8500 bit with a shorter 1/4" cut length.
